Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine Icon.

Chinese herbal medicine supports Acupuncture or Shiatsu to promote healing from disease, and to strengthen and support the body. Herbs are used in combination, selected on the basis of their energetic qualities and functions, and of the organs and disharmonies requiring treatment. The synergy of herbal combinations creates  a personalised therapy, both addressing the cause of the dis-ease and relieving symptoms.

Traditionally, herbs were boiled to make a tea. Today preparations include tea, granules, pills and liniments made of concentrated extracts from raw herbs. Herbal medicine may be prescribed for acute conditions over a number of weeks, or longer term for chronic conditions. Prescriptions are reviewed regularly and adjusted as the health condition changes.
